One miraculously has on it with no problems, the other that I just built , well, I put the Wifi on "Metered Connection" so it won't download I got W10 loaded from a USB thumb drive with on it, it went without a hitch onto an empty formatted drive that's the short story.

OK, now Windows wants to install updates. And as of now, just will not install. It "downloads" it "initializes" it starts "installing" but never does install.

What a messed up Update. I finally just set my Wifi to "Metered Settings" so maybe it will just stop trying to download and I'll wait for some later version. I have a Dell desktop, which was originally W7. I have found on the major updates, Fall Creator, etc. I had read to uninstall your antivirus, disconnect all external devices and after doing that, I was then able to complete the update.

Well, guys, I had nothing else installed on this laptop I'd just loaded Windows 10 from a USB thumb drive with on it that I'd bought to load Windows on a new computer build so it was about as virgin as it comes.

Nothing external to unhook. Here's a weird fact: I'd put in a completely formatted drive, basically starting completely over on this. After had loaded, unbelievably I had a desktop slideshow from before on the screen. It couldn't have come from the formatted drive. Where could it have been lurking to suddenly be the desktop on this new build?
